http://jqueryui.com/datepicker/#date-range
Today is 8/29/2014 the date picker is showing 9/5/2014 as the default date before making a choice.

There's nothing to work around. Look at the code in the demo and read my comment. The demo has an explicit default date of next week.

How can I get the calendar to show today (August 29th) FROM date and To date to start at From date forward thanks and I misunderstood your first reply.

The demo has a default date of next week.
