Datepicker doesn't respond in IE7

Description
When using the datepicker control in IE7, the pop-up fails to send the selected value to the target control, or respond to any click events i.e. Move to the next/previous month.
I have reproduced the error using the demo source code for the datepicker control. This works fine on FireFox, so it appears its just at problem with IE7.
