Draggable item drifts/jumps away from mouse when using draggable and sortable

Description
Whenever I drag a draggable object through a sortable, the draggable always ends up drifting away from the mouse cursor.
To reproduce, go to the draggable-sortable demo page http://jqueryui.com/draggable/#sortable and drag the draggable over the sortable for a few seconds.
Reproducable with latest jQueryUI on latest Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers.
I have found no workaround for this or any situation where this bug does not occur.
