Hi there,
How could I modify Datepicker to implement Java style (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/text/DateFormat.html) date format (short, medium, long, full)? Please advise. Thank you.

The next release (3.1) will have enhanced date formatting options, allowing you to replicate the Java formats.
