This looks like it's not as bad anymore: http://jsfiddle.net/sVLud/ However, this is something we're not likely to fix and probably can't fix. I've done some preliminary research and it seems like the only mention of this problem comes the jquery forums and you!
For this reason, I'm going to close this as wontfix.
