sortable is extremely slow in ie8 in some cases

Description
sortable is extremely slow in ie8. It is tenfold slower than IE 7 and even IE 6!
just go to
http://jqueryui.com/demos/sortable/ and check it in IE8
It seems that on small page it's okay
