Hi,

hope this is the right place to maybe track the development of a (semi?) official RichTextEditor module as noted here: http://wiki.jqueryui.com/RichTextEditor

I have a first implementation[1] based on the widget factory and copied source code from the rewritten accordion widget.

I need some guidence how to create two callback functions (to parse between XHTML and WYSIWYG mode) to enable the use of the plugin with e.g. bbcode and how to be conform to the jQueryUI coding standard to get it accepted as an official RTE implementation if possible.

That wiki page is the right place to track the development of that widget (which is not currently prioritized, meaning it's in a pre-planning stage, not active planning or development by the jQuery UI team). That wiki has a comment capability, if you request a login, you can add content and comments with feedback and links to sample implementations and other useful info right on that page.
