Disabling particular items within menu widget

Description
It's possible to disable an whole menu widget
It will be nice to have an API to disable/enable a particular menu items within this widget

This feature already existed, though it didn't quite work right until now. Adding the "ui-state-disabled" class to any menu item will disable it.
We only use the bug tracker for widgets that are in stable releases. I've moved your suggestion to the the todo list on the top of the menu planning page.
