What do you think of integrating month/year navigation as proposed here : http://www.eyecon.ro/bootstrap-datepicker/
Clicking on month header shows a table of 12 months, then there is a visual "zoom" in/out for month/year browsing when clicking on month/year.
I guess it's not much work to implement similar code.

I highly doubt we'll support two navigation models. The new datepicker should be extensible enough that this can be implemented as a plugin.
