Documentation missing for formatDate method

If I go to the documentation for, e.g. dateFormat, I am informed that

For a full list of the possible formats see the [[UI/Datepicker/formatDate|formatDate]] function.

Yes that link syntax appears unadorned on the page. This is because there is no documentation at that location.
